Default new to assassin

hello im quite new to the whole assassin thing so i was wondering
1) is there a build that a A/mo could use without have the need for any elite skills,
2) whats the best armor and/or is it best to mix the parts
3) and what should i first spend my money on to make the character better and less likely to die

thanx for the help to all those who reply

There are a few guideline to help you mate:
1) NEVER EVER TRY TANKING LIKE A WARRIOR, IF U DO, I'LL KILL YA!!!
2)Shiro's daggers are VERY OVERRATED! If u want vamp daggers, go for Chkkr's pincers
3) Armor: it depends, personally i like a combo of Nightstaker's and Valykrie's for health and energy.
4)Assassin healing is bad, if you do go A/Mo take advantage of healing breeze.
5)Get a shadow step or a blinding skill to help stop yourself from taking too much damage.

If you play PvP Shiros Daggers are very useful, because they deal Slashing Damage not Piercing Damage which renders things like Shields up! useless against them. And you have your weapon attribute in PvP on 16 anyway.

@OP
I dont like A/Mo..except Contemplation of Purity it doesnt have to offer much.

For PvE I'd go wiht A/W and use some skills from the tactics line to make life easier. (or you go the A/R Barrage route which is explained somewhere in this forum)

From your first question, I suspect either A) You want to get Healing Hands or some other monk elite. B) You don't have an elite.

For armour, if you are using shadow steps, go with +15 while attacking. You won't attack unless you're in the area, and if you're out, no one will attack you!

Everthorn's Chakrams are the best green daggers in the game IMO. But you can always get a secondary set.

Go pure assassin, use x/Mo for the res. Or contemplation. But you better just double click AoD instead of contemplating it methinks.

But then again, at 16 DM you are hitting once every 1 second, and with a high chance of double stricking, so its useful to have some sort of forceful way to tell you to "get high DM".

to the answer of q3: The best way not to die as a assasin, is to shadow step. unfortuantly theres no retreating shadow stepping skills early in the game, so try not to use deaths charge, itll only get you into bad habbits. Instead, you could use death charge (i know, oppisite) on a oppoment early on the game, like a monk or a ritualist, unleashing your skill combo, if you think you can kill them in 2 seconds do it, if not, use dash and get out. As the longer you stay, the more the AI is going "he has weak armor, we shall attack him" which you dont want to do. So just get in, do your damage, then get out.

I have Everthorn's Chakrams and Chkkr's Pincers for daggers (gloat gloat). But most any daggers can work well enough, it is the skills that will do the damage.

An assassin is like a mesmer, very high damage in a short period of time, and yet fragile. Think like an assassin, get in, get out. Do not "duke it out." Stay mobile. Whichever armor you choose, mobility is what keeps you alive.

Im not saying that Shiro's daggers are bad, just overrated. I once saw someone saying that they were the best daggers in the game. My personal fav daggers are Ssaresh's Kris daggers, I have 5 pairs of green all with +30Hp lol

In all my time as an assassin, I've never been beaten by any A/Mo or anyone that uses Shiro's daggers. So they don't own me, I own them

i dont like the idea of a +30hp mod, although it looks good, once its gone its gone, rather have some sort of defence. then again you a sin,you shouldnt need defence, should be in and out. So... whats a good suffix for a sin...

I'd say an enchanting upgrade would be good.

yes, that. Or if you run a particular build, a "of hexing" would be nice aswell.

Only to dream
